Oskar Seifert Double Bass Bow
Oskar Seifert (b-1909, d-1976) learn the craft of bow making from A. Renz in Erlbach between 1924 and 1927 before setting up on his own in Graslitz in 1932. After WWII he opened a workshop in Bubenruth and it is in this second period of working that he stamped his bows Oskar Seifert. In addition to the name brand this long, quite elegant looking octagonal bow is branded Germany near to the button on the lower facet of the handle.
We believe that this well-crafted bow dates from around 1950 and apart from the name brand which is quite faint, it is in excellent all most unused condition.
